Eye-Fi upgrades its Mobile X2 line to allow direct mode right of the bat
Eye-Fi. Heard of it? It uses Wi-Fi to stream photos directly from your camera to your computer, smartphones and social network, through obviously Wi-Fi connection.
Eye-Fi is great because it saves you the trouble of transferring photos and videos taken from your camera to your computer and smartphone, and they call it “direct mode“. It allows insta-share of photos directly from the SD card to the internet sites, such as Flickr, Picasa, Facebook and PhotoBucket. Some models of Eye-Fi even allows the upload of video onto Youtube! And you can edit the photo insta-share all your photos through your phone.
This product definitely appeal to casual photographers who just wants their photos shared with their friends without editing. Did I mention Eye-Fi geotags your photo as well? Your friend can know where you are the instant the photo is online.
The new Eye-Fi Mobile X2 is made to better cater the smartphone users with better security. Also enables direct mode to work straight out of the box, without too much configuration. The app is free to download from App Store and Google Play. 8GB would cost you $79.99.
Comments:
Of course, this is not the only Wi-Fi enabled SD card available, there are others. It all boils down to which brand you trust most and which SNS site you use, because they all function well, with just different services provided and different brand. Camera does not need to be new — any camera relying on SD card does the trick. Anyhow, great thing to have.
